Herbert A Littleton Detachment 1261 Marine Corps LeagueThe Herbert A. Littleton Detachment 1261 of the Marine Corps League meets at 6:30 pm on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the American Legion Hall located in Veterans Memorial Park Acorn, Arkansas.

The Detachment is named after PFC Herbert A. Littleton a Marine, born in Mena Arkansas, that was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for selfless actions in the Korean Conflict.


The League is a veteran's organization of the U.S. Marines. It is composed of Marines and former Marines with honorable service. Our aim is to perpetuate the traditions and spirit of the U.S. Marine Corps through the continuous association of Marines who served under the Eagle, Globe and Anchor at any time, in war or peace.


The only membership qualification to be a member of Herbert A. Littleton Detatchment 1261 is honorable service in excess of 90 days in the Marines or as a FMF Corpsman. All active duty Marines or honorably discharged Marines are welcome and encouraged to join.


Some of our current projects are the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots, assisting the Salvation Army with fundraising efforts, our food consession booth at the annual Lum and Abner Days, the annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball, and installation and dedication of the Herbert A. Littleton Memorial at the Polk County Courthouse.
